Chris Gonzalez named Cal Pac Pitcher of the Week

Congratulations to Providence Christian freshman, Chris Gonzalez for earning Californian Pacific Conference Pitcher of the Week. Gonzalez was stellar in 7 innings pitched, holding La Sierra to 1 earned run on 6 strikeouts while scattering 6 hits and walking only 2. Though he was dealt the No Decision, his performance helped Providence get their first conference win of the 2024 season against foe, La Sierra. When asked about his accomplishment, Gonzalez said, "It was never about doing it for myself. Every single start, I go out there and try to pitch for the upperclassmen on this team, just trying to do my part in creating a different culture here. We've been working day in and day out all year for moments like that. But overall, it was an entire team effort in last week's win, and I am grateful to be a part of it."
